Apply For A Development Grant For The BASS Festival 2010

The UK is an amazing place to live if you're an artist - this year I'm determined to post more opportunities up because they're out there in abundance and it's always worth applying. The BASS festival are offering urban/hip hop artists grants of £500-£3000 to develop their work!

BASS Festival (British Arts and Street Sounds) is the UK’s only month long celebration of Black Music and Art. Every June, the UK comes alive with a phenomenal line up of events, new commissions, gigs, exhibitions, master classes, showcases, club nights, theatre, conferences and film.

I went to some great events as part of the festival last year and from what I can see, the right kind of people are involved. Sometimes going for funding and commissions for "urban" artists is worrying because you don't want to compromise or tone down artistic expression for a cheque - check out this video to get more of a vibe, though the festival has grown & developed considerably since 2007.
