Fela! The Musical @ The National Theatre London

I just discovered on Facebook through Gabrielle of PMOI & The Nu Black that Fela! The Musical is coming to London from Broadway later this year! You can sign up for updates on the National Theatre's website HERE

I'm super excited because one of my favourite choreographers Bill T. Jones, who is the director & choreographer of the musical on Broadway will be coming over to London to direct it here, and he will be bringing the two actors playing Fela in NY (Sahr Ngaujah and Kevin Mambo) with him. Apparently the production at The National's Olivier Theatre will have to rely more heavily on projection because it won't be possible to recreate Fela's nightclub The Shrine. I wonder if they could ever recreate the show in Lagos...

I had to show you this little video interview with Bill, I met him 10 years ago (and went a bit wobbly), and he doesn't appear to have aged, just gotten more wonderful.
