The relentlessly feel-good Mr Lau drops another EP of outstanding quality, so fine in fact most people with non-producer trained ears (me) can't actually tell just how refined every snare and erm, tinkle is. Eric has an immense talent for bringing out the best in his collaborators, and The Mission bodes well that his follow up to New Territories will be worth the waiting...

Welcome to the future. I would bet my life this woman will be a legend, simply because it's not really worth being here if the rest of the world doesn't agree on that. After agonizing waiting, we have a free EP and an EP on iTunes on the same day - you're a fool if you only grab the freebie, a damn fool. Perfect's not a word to be used lightly but...

Jono McCleery There Is

The first time I saw Jono he made me cry. He was on stage obviously, not shouting abuse. Now, years later, through the power of technology and Ninja Tune, Jono can make me cry from hundreds of miles away. It's not a particularly melancholic LP, it's just so beautiful it breaks your heart. Gulp.

Hell. Yes.

That's not really a review/ description is it? Sorry. I used to love Muhsinah more for her immense potential than her actual output, but this EP is really exciting (not because it's free), because the only reason it's not huge is marketing budget.  Huge in the it's just so damn good way not the David Guetta way.

Setting aside the sense Marques Toliver was possibly the kid who got picked on at school and hid in the music room ("catch me if you can", "despise me if you wanna", "sitting up in my room waiting for you to love me" etc), all of the hours of violin practice were surely worth it if this was the outcome.

Apparently Guilty Simpson is the irresistible flame to many moth-like UK hip hop producers, and whilst he has his merits this album proves it's also worth looking further afield, or perhaps even closer to home than The D for a killer feature. Or making dope instrumentals and not letting anyone rap on them. But then the title wouldn't make any sense.

If you're not from California, don't be put off by the title of this album. These are not the musings of annoying hippie, they're the heartfelt reflections of an incredible artist with an exceptionally pure heart and voice to match. I promise. Mia has one of the most distinctive voices of our time, it's almost so beautiful you forget to listen to the words, like a Victoria's Secret model delivering a keynote.
