Broadcasting Present Build An Ark & IG Culture @ Cargo 19th Nov 09

Only 10 sleeps to go until what could well be the gig of the year.

The night will begin with IG Culture's Zen Badizsm Workshop project - Channeling the conscious energy of jazz labels like Strata East and Tribe, the heart-melting soul of Eddie Kendricks, and the spirituality of Ra through the cutting edge musicianship of IG and collaborators including Bilal Salaam, CoreyWilkes, Pino Palladino and Heidi Vogel. The line-up for tonight’s incarnation of Zen Badizm is not yet confirmed but will include Kaidi Tatham, Akwesi Mensah, Eric Appapoulay, and  Fatima.

That in itself would be amazing. Karen P (who will also be DJing throughout the night) doesn't settle though and Build An Ark is set to be mind altering. The line up includes:  violinist Michael White, singers Mia Doi Todd and Diana Moriera, Tribe co‐founder Phil Ranelin, poet Kamau Daaood, spiritual baritone Dwight Trible, and tireless arranger Miguel Atwood‐Ferguson, all under the guidance of production standard‐bearer Carlos Niño. I have never seen any of the artists in this line up, apart from Dwight Trible at Cargo a few years ago - not a dry eye in the house.

There's more. After Build An Ark IG Culture will return to the stage - "after spending the afternoon sampling, looping and re-working Build an Ark’s rehearsal and sound-check, IG will create unique and exclusive tracks to perform for the Broad Casting audience. Alongside these fresher than fresh Build an Ark dubs, will be dropping the bombs and specials as he has always been known to do. This will no doubt be a truly unique experiment to round off the evening in unique Broad Casting style and will be accompanied by jazz dancers such as Gary Nurse from Legends of the Underground."

Buy tickets HERE - it's on Thursday 19th Nov 7-1pm, the best £10 you'll ever spend
